Dr Sanjaya Gamage

Dr Sanjaya Gamage is a highly qualified Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon who provides comprehensive specialist care. As a dual-qualified Specialist, he possesses extensive expertise in both medicine and dentistry, allowing him to address complex conditions affecting the mouth, teeth, jaws, and face. Dr Gamage is dedicated to delivering patient-centred care, ensuring that individuals undergoing surgical procedures feel fully informed, comfortable, and reassured throughout their treatment journey.

Dr Gamage completed his dental and medical degrees at the University of Adelaide, earning a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (M.B.B.S.), a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (B.D.S.), and a Bachelor of Science in Dentistry with Honours (BScDent(Hon)). He completed his accredited specialist training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery through the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons in 2024, gaining fellowship status as a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons (F.R.A.C.D.S. (O.M.S.)). To further refine his skills, he completed a post-graduate Fellowship in Maxillofacial Trauma and Orthognathic Surgery in Melbourne in 2025. His training across various healthcare settings in Australia and New Zealand has equipped him with a broad range of advanced clinical and operative skills.

In his clinical practice, Dr Gamage manages a wide spectrum of oral and maxillofacial conditions. He has a particular interest in the surgical extraction of impacted wisdom teeth, dental implantology, and pre-prosthetic surgery. Additionally, he is highly skilled in corrective jaw (orthognathic) surgery, including surgical interventions for obstructive sleep apnoea, and the management of facial trauma and temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorders. His expertise also extends to performing resective and local reconstructive surgeries for head and neck cancers, providing comprehensive solutions for both functional and aesthetic concerns.
