A/Prof Sanjay Warrier is a highly respected and dedicated consultant breast oncologist based at Chris O'Brien Lifehouse. He is also an associate professor at the University of Sydney and the lead researcher at the Royal Prince Alfred Academic Institute.
After earning his medical degree from the University of New South Wales in 2003, A/Prof Warrier went on to train in general surgery at the Princess of Wales Hospital Network. He then spent time in the breast surgical oncology unit at the Prince of Wales Hospital and the Royal Hospital for Women before moving to the Plastic Breast Unit at the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, where he undertook oncology and reconstructive surgeries.
He is proud to be able to offer his patients the latest surgical techniques and technologies; he was the first surgeon in Australia to use SPY technology for breast reconstruction, and he was the first in the Southern Hemisphere to carry out robotic breast surgery. Additionally, he was the first to use 3D printing for breast assessment and surgery planning.
A/Prof Warrier is also a committed researcher who has presented his work at many national and international conferences, including ASCO and the Cancer Institute in Bangkok. In 2013, his work on Hedgehog signalling won him the Patron's Prize at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital.
