Dr Sandra Mendel

Dr Sandra Mendel is a highly dedicated and compassionate General Practitioner who provides comprehensive healthcare to the community of Orange, New South Wales. With a strong commitment to regional medicine, she delivers patient-centred care across all stages of life. Dr Mendel has a particular clinical focus on women's health and obstetrics, working collaboratively to support expectant mothers through shared maternity care. Her reassuring and professional approach ensures that patients receive cohesive and continuous medical support.

Dr Mendel completed her Bachelor of Medicine at the University of Newcastle, graduating in 1994. Demonstrating a deep interest in maternal health, she obtained her Diploma of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists in 1997, followed by her qualification in General Practice in 1998. Committed to academic excellence, she also earned a Master of Medical Education from the University of Sydney. Dr Mendel is a Fellow of both the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners and the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine.

In addition to her clinical practice, Dr Mendel is heavily involved in shaping the future of the medical workforce. She serves as an Associate Professor and Director of Learning at a regional school of rural medicine, and acts as a Medical Educator training General Practitioners in the Central West region. Her leadership experience includes previous roles as a Director for a regional training organisation, a member of a primary health network clinical council, and Chairman of a regional division of General Practitioners. Through these roles, she actively advocates for regional healthcare and the training of future medical professionals.
