Dr Sandhya Kachhap

Dr Sandhya Kachhap is a highly dedicated Consultant Psychiatrist who provides compassionate, patient-centred care. She is committed to supporting individuals through their mental health journeys, offering comprehensive assessments and evidence-based treatment plans tailored to each patient's unique needs. With a reassuring and professional approach, Dr Kachhap works collaboratively with her patients to foster recovery, resilience, and long-term well-being.

Dr Kachhap began her medical training in India, where she earned her Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS). She then pursued postgraduate training in psychiatry in the United Kingdom, qualifying as a Member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists (MRCPsych) in 2007. Following her relocation to Australia, she completed her specialist fellowship training and was admitted as a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (FRANZCP) in 2008.

Throughout her career, Dr Kachhap has developed extensive expertise across a broad spectrum of mental health areas, including general adult psychiatry, old age psychiatry, and child and youth psychiatry. She has a particular clinical interest in perinatal psychiatry, women's mental health, mood disorders, and psychosis. To support her patients, she utilises a range of therapeutic modalities, including psychotherapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Interpersonal Therapy (IPT), ensuring a holistic and supportive path to recovery.
