Throughout his distinguished career, Dr Morton has developed a broad range of clinical interests. His extensive background encompasses key areas of medicine, including General Medicine, Obstetrics, Paediatrics, and Anaesthetics. He has also served as a Visiting Medical Officer at a regional hospital, contributing to emergency medicine and general inpatient care. Dr Morton completed his medical education at the University of Sydney, graduating with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) in 1983. Following his graduation, he undertook extensive postgraduate training and gained valuable experience across several hospitals in Newcastle, focusing on General Medicine, Obstetrics, Paediatrics, and Anaesthetics. He holds a Diploma from the Royal Australian College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (DRANZCOG, now retired) and is a Fellow of the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (FACRRM).
