A/Prof Robert Gooley

Associate Professor Robert Gooley is a highly regarded General, Interventional and Structural Cardiologist based in Melbourne, Australia. He provides comprehensive care for patients experiencing all forms of cardiovascular disease, with a strong emphasis on preventative strategies to promote long-term heart health. A/Prof Gooley specialises in the treatment of coronary artery disease and the transcatheter management of valvular heart disease. By utilising advanced, minimally invasive techniques, he offers effective treatment options for patients who may face increased risks from traditional surgical interventions.

In addition to his clinical practice, A/Prof Gooley is deeply committed to medical research and education. He serves as a Principal Investigator for numerous investigator-initiated and industry-sponsored clinical trials that explore novel techniques for managing coronary artery and structural heart diseases. A/Prof Gooley completed his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) with First Class Honours in 2004. He subsequently undertook his physician training and advanced training in cardiology, followed by specialised fellowships in interventional cardiology and structural heart disease. He also earned a PhD focusing on multi-modality imaging, as well as a Master of Business Administration (MBA). A/Prof Gooley is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) and a Fellow of the Cardiac Society of Australia and New Zealand (FCSANZ).
