Dr Robert Capstick

Dr Robert Capstick is a highly qualified Specialist Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon who provides comprehensive care across all aspects of plastic, reconstructive, and cosmetic surgery. He is dedicated to delivering patient-centred care, combining technical precision with a reassuring and compassionate approach. His clinical practice encompasses a broad range of procedures, with a particular focus on facial trauma, head and neck reconstruction, rhinoplasty, and facial feminisation surgery. He is also highly skilled in the management of skin cancer, hand surgery, microsurgery, burn management, and breast reconstruction.

Dr Capstick completed his medical education at Monash University, graduating with honours in 2012 with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery, alongside a Bachelor of Medical Science. During his undergraduate studies, he spent an additional year conducting hand surgery research as a Research Associate at Oxford University in the United Kingdom. He went on to obtain a Postgraduate Diploma in Surgical Anatomy from the University of Melbourne, where he received awards for academic excellence. Dr Capstick completed his specialist training in Melbourne, achieving the highest grade in the clinical examination for the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2017. He was awarded his Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery in 2021. To further refine his expertise, he undertook a prestigious international fellowship in craniofacial surgery at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada, in 2024.

In addition to his clinical work, Dr Capstick is deeply committed to medical education and research. He actively contributes to the training and mentorship of Junior Medical Staff and Registrars, helping to shape the next generation of surgical professionals. He also maintains an ongoing interest in clinical research, having previously contributed as a registered author of systematic reviews. Outside of his professional commitments, Dr Capstick enjoys spending time with his family, gardening, exploring food and wine, and participating in outdoor activities such as skiing and scuba diving.
