Dr Richard Schloeffel

Dr Richard Schloeffel is a highly respected General Practitioner who has dedicated much of his career to the management of complex and chronic disorders. With a compassionate and patient-centred approach, he is widely recognised for his expertise in treating conditions that are often difficult to diagnose and manage. Dr Schloeffel utilises an integrative approach to healthcare, combining conventional medicine with evidence-based complementary therapies to support his patients' overall well-being. His clinical focus is particularly centred on chronic fatigue syndrome, autoimmune diseases, and tick-borne illnesses.

Dr Schloeffel graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from the University of New South Wales in 1978. He subsequently completed post-graduate training in rural general practice and intensive care medicine. Committed to expanding his clinical toolkit, he obtained a Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners in 1983. He also pursued further studies in acupuncture, earning a Diploma of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine from Nanjing College of Traditional Chinese Medicine in 1986, followed by a Fellowship of the Australian Medical Acupuncture College in 1987. In recognition of his outstanding service to medicine in the field of chronic and infectious diseases, he was awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia in 2017.
