Dr Richard Kidd

Dr Richard Kidd is a highly dedicated and compassionate General Practitioner who provides comprehensive, patient-centred care. With extensive experience in primary healthcare, he is committed to supporting patients through all stages of life. Dr Kidd has a diverse clinical background, having undertaken voluntary medical work in Papua New Guinea as well as rural healthcare services in Queensland, which has enriched his holistic approach to family medicine.

In addition to his clinical practice, Dr Kidd is a prominent figure in the medical community, actively contributing to healthcare policy and advocacy. He serves as the Chair of the Australian Medical Association (AMA) Council of General Practice and the AMA Queensland Council of General Practice. He is also the Chair of Scriptwise and a Co-Founder of Doctors for Refugees, demonstrating his deep commitment to public health, patient safety, and humanitarian causes.

Dr Kidd completed his medical training in New Zealand, qualifying with a Bachelor of Human Biology and a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery in 1980. He went on to obtain a Diploma in Obstetrics in 1984. Dr Kidd is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) and has been recognised as a Fellow of the Australian Medical Association (FAMA) for his outstanding contributions to the profession.
