Dr Richard Hillock

Dr Richard Hillock is a highly qualified Cardiologist and Electrophysiologist who specialises in heart rhythm disorders and cardiac device management. With a patient-centred approach, he is dedicated to diagnosing and treating complex cardiovascular conditions, helping individuals regain their quality of life. His clinical practice encompasses general cardiology, with a particular focus on managing arrhythmias and utilising advanced pacing technologies to support heart health.

In addition to his core electrophysiology work, Dr Hillock has a keen interest in sports cardiology. He actively participates in the cardiovascular screening and management of elite, amateur, and masters athletes, assisting them in safely returning to physical activity and training following cardiac illness. He is passionate about combining technical precision with open communication, ensuring that patients are fully informed and comfortable throughout their treatment journey.

Dr Hillock obtained his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from the University of Otago in 1992. He completed his specialist training in cardiology in New Zealand before being awarded his Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in 2003. He subsequently undertook further advanced training, completing a Fellowship in Electrophysiology and Pacing. Dr Hillock is a Fellow of the Cardiac Society of Australia and New Zealand and is an active member of the South Australian Sports Medicine Association.
