Dr Ranjith Ralapanawa

Dr Ranjith Ralapanawa is a highly qualified Specialist Physician who specialises in General (Internal) Medicine. Based in Auchenflower, Australia, he provides comprehensive care for patients presenting with complex medical conditions and diagnostic dilemmas. Dr Ralapanawa is dedicated to delivering patient-centred, evidence-based medical care, ensuring that individuals receive thorough assessments and tailored treatment plans to manage their health effectively.

Dr Ralapanawa obtained his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from the University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka, in 1995. He subsequently completed his postgraduate training in Internal Medicine, earning his Doctor of Medicine (MD) from the Post Graduate Institute of Medicine at the University of Colombo, Sri Lanka, in 2006. Furthering his professional credentials, he achieved his Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) in 2013. He is also a Fellow of the Ceylon College of Physicians (FCCP) and holds an Australian Medical Council (AMC) Certificate. To further enhance his clinical capabilities, he completed a specialised course in Perioperative Medicine through Monash University in 2018.

In his clinical practice, Dr Ralapanawa maintains a strong interest in all aspects of General and Acute Care Medicine. He is particularly focused on the management of chronic and acute conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, stroke, and perioperative medicine. Alongside his clinical work, Dr Ralapanawa is actively involved in medical education as a Senior Lecturer. In this role, he contributes to teaching programmes in general and acute care medicine, helping to train and mentor medical students, Junior House Officers, and Physician Trainees.
