Dr Ramanan Chandrabalan

Dr Ramanan Chandrabalan is a highly dedicated and compassionate General Practitioner who provides comprehensive, patient-centred care. With a strong commitment to preventive medicine and holistic health, he supports individuals and families through all stages of life. Dr Chandrabalan is known for his reassuring and professional approach, ensuring that every patient feels heard and receives tailored medical guidance.

Dr Chandrabalan completed his medical degree at the University of Sydney, where he also obtained a Diploma in Child Health. Prior to his medical training, he earned a Bachelor of Science and a Bachelor of Optometry with Honours. He completed his internship and residency across various metropolitan and regional hospitals, gaining diverse clinical experience. Dr Chandrabalan is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP), reflecting his high standards of clinical excellence and ongoing commitment to the field of primary care.

As a versatile General Practitioner, Dr Chandrabalan has developed a wide range of clinical interests. He is highly experienced in chronic disease management, travel medicine, and paediatrics. He is also deeply committed to sexual health, practising as an accredited Prescriber of S100 HIV medication, as well as Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP), Post-Exposure Prophylaxis (PEP), and DoxyPEP. His expertise extends to men's health and women's health (including contraception, pregnancy care, and menopause management), and he is accredited to provide continuing care and prescriptions for patients diagnosed with ADHD.

In addition to his work as a General Practitioner, Dr Chandrabalan contributes to the broader healthcare system as a Staff Specialist within a hospital-in-the-home department. He also serves as a Visiting Medical Officer with a state voluntary assisted dying care navigator service, demonstrating his dedication to supporting patients with complex and compassionate care needs. Outside of his clinical duties, he enjoys staying active and regularly playing tennis.
