Dr Prishila Fookeerah

Dr Prishila Fookeerah is a highly dedicated Consultant Endocrinologist who is committed to providing high-quality, patient-centred care. By combining a strong clinical and academic background with a warm and reassuring approach, she ensures that patients feel supported throughout their treatment journey. Dr Fookeerah manages all aspects of general endocrinology, working closely with individuals to develop tailored management plans that address their unique health needs.

Her clinical expertise spans a wide range of endocrine disorders. Dr Fookeerah has a particular interest in the management of diabetes, including Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes, as well as gestational diabetes during pregnancy. Additionally, she provides comprehensive care for patients experiencing thyroid and adrenal disorders, osteoporosis, and weight management challenges. She also possesses specialised clinical expertise in pituitary disorders, helping patients navigate these complex conditions with evidence-based therapies.

Dr Fookeerah holds a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) and is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP). Alongside her clinical practice, she is deeply involved in academic research and is currently completing a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) through a prominent Australian university. Her research focuses on the role of histopathology and receptor expression in pituitary tumour classification and prognostication, work that has been recognised with prestigious international awards. She is also actively engaged in medical education, supervising and teaching medical students and supervising research projects.
