Dr Prasun Datta

Dr Prasun Datta is a highly dedicated and compassionate General Practitioner who provides comprehensive primary care. With a patient-centred approach, he is committed to supporting the health and well-being of his local community. Dr Datta offers holistic care across a broad spectrum of general practice, ensuring that each patient receives personalised and empathetic medical attention.

His clinical interests encompass a wide range of medical fields, including chronic disease management, diabetes, men's health, and mental health. In addition to his work in general medicine, Dr Datta is a qualified Addiction Medicine Specialist. He has extensive experience in managing substance use disorders, providing support for alcohol withdrawal, and delivering tailored treatment programmes for opioid dependence. He also conducts specialised fitness-to-drive assessments and has a strong interest in the intersection of mental health and addiction.

Dr Datta completed his medical degree (MBBS) and undertook his initial postgraduate training as a General Practitioner in the United Kingdom, where he gained valuable experience working within the National Health Service. Upon relocating to Australia, he pursued advanced training to become a Fellow of the Chapter of Addiction Medicine within the Royal Australasian College of Physicians. He is also a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners. Alongside his clinical practice, Dr Datta is a Clinical Senior Lecturer at the University of Sydney, where he actively contributes to the education and mentoring of future medical professionals.
