Dr Pirooz Poursoltan

Dr Poursoltan is a medical oncologist and an active member of a multidisciplinary cancer care team that coordinates care for people with cancer. They are a member of the Northern Beaches Hospital Breast Cancer MDT, the Northern Beaches Hospital Gastrointestinal Cancer MDT, the Macquarie University Hospital Cancer Program Lung Cancer MDT, and the Macquarie University Hospital Cancer Program Breast Cancer MDT.

Dr Poursoltan has a Master of Science in Medicine from The University of Sydney. They also have extra training in genetics and are interested in the molecular biology of lung cancer. Their research has included work on the genes potentially involved in the pathogenesis of lung cancer.

Dr Poursoltan has worked at the Garvan Institute and University of Sydney. They teach and lecture to first and second-year medical students on the management of cancer, beyond chemotherapy, cancer genetics, and lung cancer. They also contribute to bedside teaching.
