Dr Philip Rome

Dr Philip Rome is a highly qualified and reassuring Specialist Plastic Surgeon who provides comprehensive plastic, reconstructive, and cosmetic surgical care. With a patient-centred approach, Dr Rome is dedicated to delivering natural-looking results and personalised care. His clinical practice encompasses a wide range of procedures, including skin cancer surgery, hand surgery, scar management, and advanced facial, breast, and abdominal aesthetic procedures. Dr Rome completed his medical education at The University of Sydney, where he was awarded First Class Honours in his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery in 1999. Following his initial medical training, he was accepted into the formal Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery training programme, subsequently attaining his Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) in Plastic Surgery. To further refine his skills, he completed a post-fellowship microsurgical training programme at a renowned hospital in Barcelona, Spain. Dr Rome is an active member of the Australian Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS), where he has served as the Secretary for the New South Wales chapter, and he has also contributed to the profession as a Supervisor of Training for the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (RACS).

Beyond his clinical practice, Dr Rome is deeply committed to global health and social justice, having led numerous volunteer surgical missions to Nepal to perform complex burns reconstruction. His clinical expertise is also recognised internationally, having served as the Asia-Pacific Representative on an international expert panel for negative pressure wound therapy. Dr Rome combines this extensive technical expertise with a gentle, reassuring bedside manner, ensuring that every patient feels fully informed, supported, and comfortable throughout their surgical journey.
