Dr Peter Ricciardo

Dr Peter Ricciardo is a highly accomplished and dedicated Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon who provides comprehensive care across the full scope of his specialty. In addition to his clinical practice, he serves as the Head of Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at a major tertiary hospital and as a Consultant Surgeon at a leading paediatric hospital. With a reassuring and patient-centred approach, he specialises in addressing complex surgical needs of the mouth, jaws, face, and neck. Dr Ricciardo is committed to delivering precise, evidence-based treatments that restore both function and aesthetics for his patients.

Following his core surgical training, Dr Ricciardo undertook extensive post-fellowship training to further refine his expertise in several key sub-specialties. He completed advanced fellowships focusing on paediatric oral and maxillofacial surgery, orthognathic (corrective jaw) surgery, facial trauma reconstruction, and temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorders. Additionally, he gained specialised experience in head and neck surgery for both benign and malignant conditions. This diverse and rigorous training allows him to manage intricate cases, including congenital facial deformities and complex joint replacements, with the highest level of clinical excellence.

Dr Ricciardo's academic foundation is exceptionally broad, holding degrees in science, dentistry, and medicine. He earned his Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Dental Science from the University of Western Australia, followed by a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from the University of Queensland. He achieved his Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in 2014. Dr Ricciardo is also a Member of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow. He maintains active involvement in the professional medical community as the Western Australian Director of the Australian and New Zealand Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. Furthermore, he holds memberships with several prestigious organisations, including the International Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the British Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the Australian and New Zealand Society of Head and Neck Cancer Surgeons, the European Association for Cranio-Maxillo-Facial Surgery, the Australian Medical Association, and the Australian Dental Association.
