Dr Peter Barclay

Dr Peter Barclay is a dedicated and highly skilled General Practitioner who provides comprehensive, patient-centred care to the community of East Ryde. With a broad clinical background and a compassionate approach, he is committed to supporting patients through all stages of life. Dr Barclay began his healthcare career by completing a Bachelor of Nursing at the University of Sydney, before pursuing postgraduate medical studies and graduating in 2000. He gained extensive clinical experience as a Junior Doctor, working across several major metropolitan, regional, and rural hospitals in New South Wales. In 2002, he also spent time volunteering as a Medical Officer at a remote rural hospital in Papua New Guinea. Following this, he completed a three-year training programme with the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners, gaining valuable experience in both suburban and rural general practices. Dr Barclay successfully passed his professional examinations in 2006 and was awarded a Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners in 2007.

Throughout his career, Dr Barclay has developed a diverse range of clinical interests to better serve his patients. He has particular expertise in managing musculoskeletal conditions, geriatric medicine, and paediatrics. Additionally, he provides comprehensive care in obstetrics and gynaecology, and is highly skilled in performing minor surgical procedures, including the removal of skin lesions. His holistic approach ensures that each patient receives personalised, evidence-based treatment tailored to their individual needs.
