Dr Patrick Tai

Dr Patrick Tai is a dedicated and compassionate General Practitioner who is committed to providing comprehensive, patient-centred care. He believes in understanding the whole person rather than focusing solely on individual symptoms, working collaboratively with his patients to help them achieve their optimal health outcomes. Known for creating a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment, Dr Tai is particularly recognised for his supportive approach to diverse patient groups, including the LGBTIQA+ community.

Dr Tai graduated from the University of New South Wales with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (Honours) in 2009. He completed his specialist training in General Practice in 2014, obtaining his Fellowship with the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners. Demonstrating a strong commitment to continuous learning, he completed a Diploma in Children's Health in 2012 and went on to earn a Master of Reproductive Medicine in 2020. In addition to his clinical work, Dr Tai contributes to the medical profession as a Senior Medical Educator and Examiner for the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners.

With a broad range of clinical expertise, Dr Tai has developed special interests in sexual health, reproductive medicine, and weight management. He is highly experienced in supporting expectant parents through antenatal shared care and is accredited to provide this service in collaboration with major metropolitan hospitals. As an accredited prescriber, he manages treatments for HIV and Hepatitis B, and provides preventative care such as pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) and routine screenings. Additionally, Dr Tai offers specialised support in menopause management, contraception services, and acts as a continuation prescriber for adults with stable, pre-diagnosed attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).
