Dr Ofer Gonen

Dr Ofer Gonen is a specialist neurologist currently practising at Neurology Network Melbourne, based at the Knox Private location. He graduated with a Doctor of Medicine from Tel Aviv University in Israel in 2007 and completed his core specialty training in neurology at Shamir Medical Centre.

Following his move to Australia, Dr Gonen undertook advanced subspecialty training in epilepsy at the Royal Melbourne Hospital and The Alfred Hospital. During this period, he also completed a PhD in Neuroscience at the University of Melbourne, integrating clinical expertise with academic research. He was awarded Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in Neurology in 2021.

Dr Gonen remains actively involved in epilepsy-related research and is committed to advancing evidence-based neurological care. In addition to his clinical practice, he works as a Principal Investigator at Nucleus Network Pty Ltd, where he leads early-phase clinical trials investigating a range of novel medicinal products. In this role, he collaborates closely with international pharmaceutical companies to support the development of innovative therapies for neurological conditions.

His clinical and research interests span neurodegenerative disorders, epilepsy and seizure management, neurostimulation and emerging medical devices, and the design and conduct of clinical trials in neurology.
