A/Prof Nitesh Nerlekar

A/Prof Nitesh Nerlekar is a highly accomplished Consultant Cardiologist and Cardiac Imaging Specialist based in Melbourne, Australia. He specialises in non-invasive cardiac imaging and is dedicated to the prevention and management of cardiovascular disease. With a patient-centred approach, A/Prof Nerlekar focuses on delivering comprehensive care that addresses coronary heart disease, cardiovascular risk prediction, and preventative strategies for both men and women, with a particular interest in women's heart health.

A/Prof Nerlekar completed his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery with Honours at a prominent Melbourne university, graduating in 2007. He undertook his basic physician training and advanced training in Cardiology, subsequently completing specialised fellowships in advanced echocardiography, cardiac CT, and cardiac MRI. He holds formal accreditation in all three of these sub-specialties and is a Level B CT Coronary Angio Reporter. In addition to his medical degrees, he holds a Master of Public Health, statistical and research diplomas, and a PhD that investigated the relationship between cardiac fat, inflammation, and coronary artery disease. He is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP).
