Dr Nicholas John

Dr Nicholas John is a highly regarded Geriatrician and General Physician based in Auchenflower, Queensland. Specialising in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease and disability in older adults, he is dedicated to supporting patients as they navigate the complexities of ageing. Dr John provides comprehensive, compassionate care designed to help older individuals maintain their independence, dignity, and overall quality of life. His clinical approach focuses on addressing both the physical and psychological aspects of health, ensuring that each patient receives a holistic and personalised assessment.

With a deep interest in cognitive health and age-related neurological conditions, Dr John focuses on the management of memory impairment, dementia syndromes, delirium, and the neurology of old age. Dr John completed his medical training at Bristol University Medical School, graduating with a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) in 1988. He undertook extensive postgraduate training in General Medicine and Geriatric Medicine across the United Kingdom, New Zealand, and Australia, which included a clinical research fellowship focusing on memory and ageing. Dr John obtained his Membership of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP) in 1997, followed by his Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) in 2000, and was awarded a Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians (FRCP) in 2009. He has also contributed to medical education as a Clinical Lecturer and has participated in international clinical trials for dementia.
