Dr Neeliya Kumar

Dr Neeliya Kumar is a compassionate and dedicated General Practitioner who is committed to providing holistic, evidence-based care tailored to the unique needs of each individual. She values the variety that General Practice offers and thrives on the continuity of care, building long-term, trusting relationships with her patients and their families. Known for her warm bedside manner and approachable nature, Dr Kumar focuses on improving the overall health and well-being of every patient she sees.

As a true generalist, Dr Kumar has a broad range of clinical interests. She is particularly passionate about family medicine, chronic disease management, and acute medical presentations. Her diverse clinical expertise also encompasses women's health, antenatal care, paediatrics, and mental health. Additionally, she is highly skilled in performing skin checks, minor procedures, Implanon insertions and removals, and administering iron infusions for patients experiencing iron deficiency.

Dr Kumar completed her medical degree at the University of Fiji, graduating in 2000. After relocating to Australia to pursue her medical career, she completed comprehensive hospital training in Queensland, gaining valuable experience across key departments including obstetrics, gynaecology, and internal medicine. She subsequently transitioned into General Practice and is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP). She remains dedicated to ongoing professional development to ensure her patients receive the highest standard of care.
