Dr Naomi Achong

Dr Naomi Achong is a highly dedicated and compassionate Endocrinologist who is committed to delivering equitable, accessible, and high-quality healthcare to all members of the community. With a patient-centred approach, she focuses on improving her patients' quality of life by providing tailored hormone management and comprehensive medical care. Her empathetic and attentive nature ensures that each patient receives the highest level of support and clinical expertise.

Dr Achong completed her Bachelor of Science with Honours and her Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) at the University of Queensland. She then undertook her advanced training in Endocrinology and Obstetric Medicine at major tertiary hospitals in Brisbane. Demonstrating a strong commitment to clinical research, she completed her PhD in 2019, focusing on insulin requirements during pregnancy and breastfeeding in women with type 1 diabetes. She is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP).

As a Specialist in hormone management, Dr Achong has a broad range of clinical interests spanning general endocrinology, diabetes management, and weight management. She is particularly passionate about gender-affirming medical therapy, offering supportive treatments such as injectable oestrogen and testosterone therapies. Her expertise also extends to managing complex endocrine conditions, including thyroid and adrenal diseases, pituitary disorders, osteoporosis, calcium disorders, and hypogonadism. Additionally, she provides specialised care in pre-pregnancy counselling, lactation induction, and the management of Performance and Image Enhancing Drugs (PIED).
