Dr Mun Hui

Dr Mun Hui is a highly dedicated Medical Oncologist and Clinician-Scientist who specialises in the treatment of breast cancer as well as head and neck cancers. With a strong commitment to providing compassionate, evidence-based care, Dr Hui works closely within multidisciplinary teams to co-ordinate comprehensive treatment plans tailored to each patient's unique needs. Her clinical approach seamlessly integrates the latest scientific advancements with patient-focused care, ensuring that individuals receive the most progressive and supportive treatment possible throughout their therapeutic journey.

In addition to her clinical practice, Dr Hui is deeply involved in cutting-edge Oncology research, particularly focusing on the tumour microenvironment and mechanisms of treatment resistance. As a Clinical Lead for early-phase clinical trials, she plays a pivotal role in translating laboratory discoveries into real-world medical applications. Her pioneering work in single-cell sequencing and genomic profiling aims to better understand why certain cancers respond to neoadjuvant therapies, such as chemotherapy and immunotherapy, while others do not. Through this research, she strives to develop personalised treatment strategies that improve outcomes and minimise side effects for patients.

Dr Hui completed her medical degree at the University of Auckland in 2005, where she was named on the Dean's Honours List for her outstanding academic achievements. She subsequently undertook Specialist training in Medical Oncology, obtaining her Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) in 2013. Committed to advancing the scientific understanding of Oncology, she was awarded a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in cancer molecular biology by the University of New South Wales in 2017, following extensive translational research.
