Dr Mohsen Hassani

Dr Mohsen Hassani is a highly dedicated General Practitioner who specialises in skin cancer medicine and surgery. He is deeply committed to the prevention, early detection, and comprehensive management of skin cancers. Within his clinical practice, Dr Hassani provides thorough skin checks and utilises advanced diagnostic techniques, such as total body photography, to capture high-resolution images of the skin surface. This meticulous approach allows for the precise monitoring of changes over time, facilitating early diagnosis and timely intervention for his patients.

In addition to diagnostic services, Dr Hassani possesses extensive expertise in performing complex skin cancer treatments, including advanced excisions, skin grafts, and flap procedures. His clinical philosophy is centred on delivering personalised, evidence-based care to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Beyond his direct clinical work, he is actively involved in medical education, serving as a Senior Lecturer and Course Coordinator for the Master of Medicine (Skin Cancer) programme at The University of Queensland, where he helps train the next generation of medical professionals.

Dr Hassani completed his Doctor of Medicine at the Ahvaz Jundishapur University of Medical Sciences in Iran in 2003. After relocating to Australia, he obtained his Australian Medical Council certificate and was awarded Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners in 2010. He furthered his academic credentials by earning a Master of Medicine in Skin Cancer from The University of Queensland in 2017. Dr Hassani is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners and a Fellow of the Skin Cancer Institute. He also holds professional memberships with the Skin Cancer College of Australasia, the International Dermoscopy Society, and the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine.
