Dr Michelle Lai

Dr Michelle Lai is a dedicated and compassionate General Practitioner who provides comprehensive healthcare to individuals and families. She is highly committed to the continuity of care, valuing the opportunity to build long-term relationships with her patients. Dr Lai believes in understanding how family and community dynamics influence personal health, allowing her to deliver holistic and personalised medical care.

Throughout her career, Dr Lai has gained extensive international experience across multiple healthcare systems. She initially worked in hospital settings and general practice in South Africa and the United States before relocating to New Zealand. There, she gained valuable experience working in family practice as well as in accident and medical emergency care. She later relocated to Mudgeeraba, Australia, where she continues to provide high-quality primary care.

Dr Lai completed her medical education at the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa, graduating with a Bachelor of Science and a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery in 1990. She went on to obtain her fellowship with the Royal New Zealand College of General Practitioners. Additionally, she is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners, reflecting her commitment to maintaining the highest standards of clinical practice.

As a versatile General Practitioner, Dr Lai enjoys all aspects of primary care. She has developed a particular clinical interest in women's health, menopause management, and mental health support. Furthermore, she is highly focused on chronic disease management and preventative medicine, working closely with patients to prevent illness and promote long-term well-being.
