Dr Michael Walsh

Dr Michael Walsh is a highly regarded Consultant Neurologist based in Brisbane, Queensland. He provides comprehensive neurological care, specialising in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of complex disorders affecting the brain and nervous system. With a patient-centred approach, Dr Walsh is dedicated to delivering thorough clinical assessments and personalised treatment plans to help patients manage their neurological health effectively.

Throughout his career, Dr Walsh has developed a strong clinical interest in stroke management, chronic migraine, and spasticity. He has been actively involved in pioneering research, particularly in the development of predictive models for stroke using advanced magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) techniques, such as perfusion and diffusion imaging. His clinical expertise also extends to managing complex conditions like CADASIL and amyloidosis, utilising evidence-based therapies to improve patient outcomes and enhance quality of life.

Dr Walsh completed his medical education at the University of Queensland, where he obtained his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS). He subsequently undertook extensive postgraduate training in neurology to qualify as a specialist Neurologist. He is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) and maintains active involvement in the broader Australian neurological community.
