Dr Michael Lo

Dr Michael Lo is a highly qualified Specialist Plastic Surgeon who provides comprehensive care in plastic, reconstructive, and aesthetic surgery. With a patient-centred approach, Dr Lo is dedicated to delivering optimal clinical outcomes and reassuring support throughout each patient's surgical journey. His practice encompasses a broad spectrum of procedures, ranging from general plastic surgery and complex reconstructive microsurgery to aesthetic enhancements. Dr Lo has developed extensive expertise in several key areas of plastic and reconstructive surgery. His clinical interests include the management and reconstruction of skin cancers and melanoma, hand surgery, and trauma reconstruction. He also focuses on complex reconstructive challenges, such as head and neck cancer reconstruction, soft tissue tumours, and breast surgery, including aesthetic, reconstructive, and reduction procedures. Additionally, Dr Lo is skilled in paediatric plastic surgery, addressing congenital deformities and cleft conditions, as well as managing burns and maxillofacial trauma.

Dr Lo began his academic journey in molecular immunology, earning a Bachelor of Science with Honours, which sparked his interest in transplantation and reconstructive surgery. He went on to complete his medical degree, obtaining a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from Flinders University of South Australia in 2002. He also holds a Graduate Diploma in Surgical Anatomy. Dr Lo completed his advanced training in Melbourne, qualifying as a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery in 2014. He is an active member of several prestigious professional bodies, including the Australian Society of Plastic Surgeons and the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons.
