Dr Michael Farber

Dr Michael Farber is a highly dedicated Geriatrician and General Physician who specialises in providing comprehensive care for older individuals. With a compassionate and holistic approach, he focuses on promoting quality of life, health, and well-being for his patients. Dr Farber is committed to supporting older adults as they navigate complex health challenges, ensuring they receive personalised and reassuring medical care tailored to their unique needs.

Throughout his career, Dr Farber has developed a diverse range of clinical interests within geriatric medicine. He has extensive expertise in managing cognitive function, dementia, and the Behavioural and Psychological Symptoms of Dementia (BPSD). Additionally, he is highly skilled in addressing issues related to falls and mobility, osteoporosis management, continence, and capacity assessments. His broad expertise as a General Physician allows him to manage complex, multi-system chronic conditions, helping patients maintain their independence and vitality.

Dr Farber obtained his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from Monash University in 2001. He completed his advanced specialist training in Melbourne between 2007 and 2010, which included a specialised fellowship in geriatrics. He is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP). Demonstrating his commitment to the advancement of his field, Dr Farber is an active member of the Australian and New Zealand Society for Geriatric Medicine, where he has previously contributed in a leadership capacity as the Honorary Secretary for the Victorian branch.
