Dr Michael Bala is a highly dedicated and versatile General Practitioner and Rural Generalist who provides comprehensive, patient-centred care. His extensive background in both primary care and diverse hospital settings allows him to manage a wide range of acute and chronic conditions with a reassuring and holistic perspective.

Throughout his distinguished career, Dr Bala has accumulated a wealth of experience across various medical environments. He has served as a Senior Medical Officer and Hospital Superintendent in regional Queensland, where his responsibilities spanned emergency medicine, in-patient care, obstetrics, and endoscopy. His clinical versatility is further highlighted by his work as an Intensive Care Doctor, Hospitalist, and Team Doctor. Dr Bala has also demonstrated a strong commitment to global health, contributing his skills to humanitarian and disaster relief efforts internationally, including primary care missions and emergency medical relief.

Dr Bala obtained his Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from the University of Queensland. He is a Fellow of the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (FACRRM), reflecting his advanced training and expertise in rural and remote medicine. Deeply invested in the future of the medical workforce, Dr Bala actively contributes to medical education. He has served as a Supervisor for Registrars, Residents, and Medical Students, and has held prominent roles as an Examiner and Lead Examiner for professional medical colleges.
