Dr Melanie Light is a highly dedicated and compassionate Endocrinologist and General Physician who provides comprehensive, patient-centred care. With a clinical approach that is both holistic and reassuring, she focuses on empowering patients to manage complex, chronic conditions. Dr Light is committed to delivering evidence-based medical care tailored to each individual's unique health needs, ensuring patients feel supported throughout their treatment journey.

Dr Light completed her medical degree at Deakin University before undertaking her initial physician training in Melbourne. She subsequently completed advanced dual specialist training in Endocrinology and General Medicine, gaining extensive clinical experience across several major tertiary referral hospitals. She is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP). Alongside her clinical practice, Dr Light is actively involved in quality improvement initiatives, the development of clinical practice guidelines, and the ongoing education and mentorship of junior doctors and medical students.

With dual qualifications in Endocrinology and General Medicine, Dr Light is uniquely equipped to manage the multifaceted aspects of chronic diseases. During her time working within a specialised clinical nutrition unit, she developed a deep interest in nutrition, metabolism, and obesity, which remains a key focus of her practice. Her broad clinical expertise spans all areas of general endocrinology, including the management of thyroid, parathyroid, pituitary, and adrenal disorders, as well as osteoporosis and metabolic bone diseases. She also provides expert care for men's and women's hormonal health and is highly experienced in managing all types of diabetes, including Type 1, Type 2, and gestational diabetes.
