Dr Meagan Brennan

Dr Meagan Brennan is a highly dedicated General Practitioner and Breast Physician who is deeply committed to providing compassionate, patient-centred care. With a unique focus on breast health and the diagnostic work-up of patients presenting with breast symptoms, she combines her clinical expertise with a reassuring and empathetic approach. Dr Brennan is passionate about promoting human connections in medicine, aiming to enhance the overall patient experience and support the well-being of those under her care.

In her clinical practice, Dr Brennan specialises in the management of benign breast disease and the assessment of individuals at high genetic risk of breast cancer. She possesses advanced skills in the interpretation of breast imaging and the performance of breast biopsies, ensuring a thorough and precise diagnostic process. Additionally, she is highly focused on breast cancer survivorship, providing comprehensive follow-up care to support patients after their treatment, as well as offering compassionate end-of-life care. Her broader interests also encompass narrative medicine, medical humanities, and the holistic art of medicine.

Dr Brennan completed her Bachelor of Medicine at the University of Newcastle, qualifying in 1991. Committed to postgraduate excellence, she obtained her Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners in 1997. She furthered her academic pursuits by earning a Doctor of Philosophy from the University of Sydney in 2015, alongside a Graduate Certificate in Educational Studies in 2023. Dr Brennan also holds a Certificate in Narrative Medicine from Columbia University, completed in 2020. She is a Fellow of the Australasian Society of Breast Physicians and a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, reflecting her active involvement in medical education and professional standards.
