Dr Maya Ruth O'brien is a dedicated and compassionate General Practitioner who is committed to providing comprehensive, patient-centred care. With a holistic approach to medicine, she focuses on understanding each patient's unique health journey to deliver personalised treatment plans. Dr Ruth O'brien believes in fostering strong, trusting relationships with her patients, ensuring they feel supported and informed at every stage of their healthcare journey.

Dr Ruth O'brien commenced her medical journey by completing a Bachelor of Medical Science with Honours, subsequently engaging in medical research. She then pursued her medical training at the University of Sydney, graduating with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) in 2016. Following her graduation, she gained valuable clinical experience as a Resident Medical Officer and Junior Doctor within the hospital system before entering the General Practice training programme, where she completed various community-based placements.

As a General Practitioner, Dr Ruth O'brien has developed a broad range of clinical interests. She is particularly passionate about women's health, including antenatal and postpartum care, as well as paediatrics and aged care. Her clinical focus also extends to palliative care and sexual health services, allowing her to provide supportive and empathetic care to patients across all stages of life.
