Dr Martyn Baker

Dr Martyn Baker is an experienced General Practitioner with a career spanning decades of dedicated patient care. Graduating with a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery from the University of Cambridge in 1973, Dr Baker went on to earn diplomas in Obstetrics and Gynaecology and Child Health in 1975, reflecting his commitment to broadening his expertise to better serve his patients.

Since establishing his practice in 1976, Dr Baker has developed special interests in obstetrics and gynaecology, hypnotherapy, and musculoskeletal medicine. His approach is characterised by a holistic view of health, blending evidence-based medical care with therapies designed to support physical and mental well-being.

Known for his empathetic and patient-focused care, Dr Baker’s work is grounded in decades of clinical excellence and a passion for improving lives through personalised treatment. Whether addressing musculoskeletal concerns, providing tailored support for women’s health, or employing hypnotherapy to aid emotional resilience, he remains committed to empowering patients on their health journey.

Dr Baker has most recently launched HypnoSport a coaching service specialising in sports performance enhancement for high school students through hypnosis. With 50 years experience as a GP and a deep understanding of human behaviour, Dr Baker aims to empower young athletes by unlocking their mental resilience, focus and confidence. The service will cater to students in individual or small group sessions, emphasising customised, goal-oriented coaching to improve their sports performance.
