Dr Martin Hanson

Dr Martin Hanson is a highly accomplished Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgeon who specialises in Ear, Nose, and Throat (ENT) surgery. With a patient-centred approach, Dr Hanson is dedicated to providing optimal treatments while focusing on maximising his patients' quality of life. He has advanced training and subspecialty interests in thyroid and parathyroid surgery, head and neck cancer surgery, and facial plastic surgery. He is particularly passionate about rhinoplasty, functional nasal reconstruction, and optimising aesthetic outcomes for patients undergoing cancer treatment.

Dr Hanson completed his undergraduate degrees in Science (Biomedical) and Business Management at the University of Queensland before obtaining his postgraduate medical degree. After successfully completing his specialist Otolaryngology training in Queensland, he was awarded a Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS). To further refine his expertise, Dr Hanson undertook dual subspecialty fellowship training in the United States. He had the honour of being the first Australian Ear, Nose, and Throat Surgeon to be awarded a clinical fellowship post at a prestigious cancer centre in New York. He subsequently completed a second clinical fellowship in facial plastic and reconstructive surgery at the University of Virginia, where he was later appointed as an Attending Surgeon.

In addition to his extensive fellowship training, Dr Hanson was among the first cohort of surgeons certified in the Trans-Oral Robotic Surgery (TORS) programme conducted by the American Head and Neck Society. His clinical and technical expertise spans complex procedures such as cosmetic and functional rhinoplasty, blepharoplasty, otoplasty, surgical facelifts, and the resection and reconstruction of complex skin malignancies of the face, head, and neck. Committed to advancing his field, Dr Hanson has conducted clinical research on thyroid, salivary, and laryngeal diseases, as well as anterior skull base and sinus surgeries.
