Dr Mark Porter

Dr Mark Porter is a highly accomplished Orthopaedic Surgeon who specialises in sports orthopaedic surgery of both the upper and lower limbs. With a patient-centred approach, he focuses on helping individuals recover from musculoskeletal injuries and return to their active lifestyles. Dr Porter is dedicated to providing comprehensive care, utilising advanced surgical techniques alongside conservative management strategies to achieve optimal outcomes for his patients.

His clinical expertise encompasses a wide range of arthroscopic and reconstructive procedures, as well as the management of acute trauma. Dr Porter has a particular interest in treating complex conditions of the knee, shoulder, ankle, elbow, wrist, and hand. His work includes anterior cruciate ligament reconstructions, cartilage repair, Achilles tendon treatments, and ankle ligament augmentations. Through his active involvement in clinical research, Dr Porter ensures his treatment methods are aligned with the latest evidence-based advancements in orthopaedic medicine.

Dr Porter obtained his primary medical degrees, Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery, and Bachelor of Obstetrics (MB BCh BAO), from the National University of Ireland, graduating in 1990. Dr Porter is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and a Fellow of the Australian Orthopaedic Association.
