Dr Mark Johnson

Dr Mark Johnson is a highly regarded Specialist Cardiologist who specialises in clinical cardiology and advanced cardiac imaging. Dedicated to providing comprehensive, patient-centred care, Dr Johnson focuses on diagnosing and managing a wide range of cardiovascular conditions. He is particularly passionate about utilising state-of-the-art imaging techniques to ensure precise diagnoses, helping patients understand their heart health and navigate their treatment journeys with confidence.

Dr Johnson graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from the University of Queensland. He completed his basic Physician training and specialised training in Clinical Pharmacology at major tertiary hospitals in Brisbane, before undertaking advanced training in Cardiology. To further refine his expertise, he completed a prestigious two-year clinical and research fellowship in cardiac imaging at a leading hospital in Vancouver, Canada. Dr Johnson is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) and a Fellow of the Cardiac Society of Australia and New Zealand (FCSANZ). He is also board-certified in CT coronary angiography.

Throughout his career, Dr Johnson has made significant contributions to the field of cardiology, including serving as the inaugural Clinical Director of a regional cardiac investigation unit, where he was instrumental in establishing advanced cardiac imaging services. He has been actively involved in pioneering research, particularly in low-radiation-dose CT coronary angiography and the assessment of transcatheter valve therapies. Additionally, he has co-authored a book chapter on echocardiographic guidance for cardiac procedures, reflecting his commitment to advancing medical knowledge and improving patient outcomes.
