Dr Marija Lugonja

Dr Marija Lugonja is a dedicated and compassionate General Practitioner who provides comprehensive, patient-centred care. She enjoys the diverse nature of General Practice and values the opportunity to build long-term relationships with her patients, ensuring continuity of care. Her approach is warm, thorough, and highly personalised, focusing on supporting individuals through every stage of life.

Dr Lugonja graduated from the University of London in 2003. She completed her postgraduate General Practice training in the United Kingdom in 2011, attaining Membership of the Royal College of General Practitioners (MRCGP). Committed to expanding her clinical expertise, she undertook advanced training in women's health, earning a Diploma of the Faculty of Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare from the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (DFSRH). She is also a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) and is registered as an Antenatal Shared Care Provider.

With a strong clinical focus on preventative medicine, Dr Lugonja is passionate about helping patients achieve optimal health outcomes through early screening and lifestyle guidance. Her areas of clinical interest include family planning, sexual and reproductive health, and mental health support. She is highly experienced in contraception management, including the insertion and removal of long-acting reversible contraceptives such as intrauterine devices (IUDs) and contraceptive implants. Additionally, she provides comprehensive travel medicine advice and antenatal shared care, supporting expectant mothers throughout their pregnancy journeys.
