Dr Luke Gaffney

Dr Luke Gaffney is a highly qualified Consultant Physician specialising in General (Internal) Medicine. Based in Toowoomba, he is dedicated to providing holistic, comprehensive assessments and personalised management plans for adult patients. With a broad clinical focus, Dr Gaffney manages complex multi-system disorders and is passionate about all aspects of Adult Internal Medicine. His practice encompasses inpatient care, outpatient consultations, and diagnostic monitoring, ensuring that patients receive continuous and coordinated care throughout their medical journeys.

In addition to his core work as a General Physician, Dr Gaffney has developed significant expertise in several key sub-specialties. He is also certified in gastrointestinal endoscopy, performing diagnostic gastroscopy and colonoscopy procedures. He is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) and holds a Clinical Diploma in Palliative Medicine and a Graduate Certificate in Perioperative Medicine. Throughout his career, Dr Gaffney has demonstrated a strong commitment to medical leadership and education, having served as a Director of Medicine and held academic appointments with prominent universities. He has also contributed to the broader medical community through his work on national councils representing regional and rural General Physicians, as well as serving on local medical advisory committees.
