Dr Louise Rigney

Dr Louise Rigney is an Australian-trained Neurologist who is dedicated to providing comprehensive and compassionate care to her patients. She adopts a holistic approach to medicine, aiming to view each patient as a whole individual rather than focusing solely on isolated symptoms. Dr Rigney treats patients aged 16 and over, addressing a broad spectrum of neurological conditions with a focus on improving their overall quality of life.

Dr Rigney completed her medical degree at the University of Newcastle, graduating with a Bachelor of Medicine in 2007. She subsequently undertook her specialist training in Neurology at major tertiary hospitals. Following this, she completed a fellowship in Neuromuscular Medicine alongside specialised training in Neuroimmunology. In 2015, she was awarded a Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) within the Adult Medicine Division. She also contributes to the education of future medical professionals as a Senior Lecturer.

In her clinical practice, Dr Rigney manages a wide variety of neurological disorders, including headaches, stroke, epilepsy, multiple sclerosis, and Parkinson's disease. She has a particular interest in pregnancy-related neurological conditions, neuropathy, motor neuron disease, tremors, dizziness, dementia, and head injuries. Additionally, she provides advanced neurophysiology services, such as nerve conduction studies, electromyography (EMG), and electroencephalogram (EEG) testing. Dr Rigney is also highly skilled in administering botulinum toxin therapy for the management of chronic migraines, hyperhidrosis, and spasticity.
