Dr Leah Gellert

Dr Leah Gellert is a Sydney-based gastroenterologist who works for South Eastern Gastroenterology (consulting rooms in Bondi Junction and Kogarah) as well as St George Private Hospital and City East Specialist Day Hospital. Dr Gellert is especially interested in colon cancer prevention and early diagnosis, as well as hepatology. She is also able to provide practical guidance and treatment for common gastroenterological issues such as abdominal pain, rectal bleeding, constipation, diarrhoea, and Irritable Bowel Syndrome.

Dr Gellert graduated with honours from the University of New South Wales in 1999 before going on to complete a Masters of Medicine at The University of Sydney. She also has extensive research experience and has spent time with the Bowel Cancer & Digestive Research Institute Australia identifying factors for improved bowel cancer screening, particularly in high-risk families.
