Dr Kiran Sindhu

Dr Kiran Sindhu is a highly regarded Consultant Ophthalmologist who provides comprehensive eye care services. With a clinical focus on restoring and preserving vision, he specialises in a wide range of ophthalmic conditions. His primary surgical interests lie in cataract surgery, where he utilises advanced techniques to achieve optimal visual outcomes for his patients. In addition to cataracts, Dr Sindhu has a strong clinical interest in paediatric ophthalmology, glaucoma management, and general ophthalmic surgery, ensuring that patients of all ages receive tailored, high-quality care.

Dr Sindhu completed his medical education at the University of Tasmania, graduating in 1984. He went on to undertake specialist training in Sydney, where he successfully completed his Ophthalmology Fellowship in 1992. He is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists (RANZCO). Throughout his career, Dr Sindhu has demonstrated a deep commitment to professional standards and education, holding several key leadership positions within RANZCO, including Chair of the Examinations and Assessments Committee, and serving as a member of both the Education and Curriculum Committees.

Beyond his clinical practice, Dr Sindhu is deeply passionate about training the next generation of Eye Specialists. He has been extensively involved in training Ophthalmology Registrars, sharing his vast knowledge and expertise with Junior Doctors. He has previously served as a Chair and Examiner for Ophthalmic Basic Clinical Competencies and Knowledge, as well as a Subject Leader and Examiner in Anatomy.
