With over two decades of experience, he is well-known across South East Queensland for his exceptional skills and dedication to providing best-in-class patient care. Dr Latendresse's extensive training includes completing advanced hand and upper extremity fellowships in Canada and Australia. Before settling to the Sunshine Coast in 2006, he served as a staff surgeon at one of Canada’s busiest trauma hospitals.
Dr Latendresse is committed to understanding each patient’s unique concerns and tailoring treatment plans to meet their individual needs and expectations. His approach combines technical expertise with compassionate care, striving for optimal outcomes for his patients.
Dr Latendresse earned his medical degree and completed orthopaedic surgery training in Canada, becoming a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in 2000, a certification he actively maintains. He further honed his expertise in hand, wrist, and elbow surgery through a year-long fellowship at the Roth McFarlane Hand and Upper Limb Centre in London ON (Canada). He then completed an additional year of advanced training with the Hand Surgery Fellowship at Sydney Hospital and St. Luke’s Private Hospital in Sydney, New South Wales.
After practising and providing training at Hôpital du Sacré-Coeur de Montréal (HSCM), a major trauma hospital in Canada, Dr Latendresse relocated to Australia, where he earned Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2009 after successfully passing the fellowship examination.
In addition to his clinical work, Dr Latendresse is passionate about education and plays an important role in training the next generation of orthopaedic surgeons.
