Dr. Khoi Tran

Dr. Khoi Tran is a highly qualified Ophthalmic Surgeon who specialises in the diagnosis, treatment, and surgical management of disorders affecting the vitreous, retina, and macula. With a patient-centred approach, he is dedicated to providing compassionate, individualised care, ensuring his patients feel comfortable and reassured throughout their treatment journey. His clinical expertise encompasses a broad range of complex eye conditions, including retinal detachments, macular holes, and advanced cataracts, utilising the latest innovative techniques to achieve the best possible visual outcomes.

Dr. Tran began his medical career by earning a Bachelor of Pharmacy in 2002, followed by a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery in 2006, both from the University of Queensland. He went on to complete a Master of Medicine in Ophthalmic Science at the University of Sydney in 2008. Dr. Tran undertook his specialist Ophthalmology training at a prestigious tertiary eye hospital in Sydney, qualifying as a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists (FRANZCO) in 2016. To further refine his skills, he completed advanced post-graduate fellowship training in medical and surgical retina at internationally recognised institutions in Canada and the United States, where he also served as a Faculty Member and Consultant Vitreoretinal Surgeon.

In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Tran is deeply committed to advancing the field of Ophthalmology through clinical research and education. He has served as a Principal Investigator for several international multi-centre clinical trials and is an active member of the Diabetic Retinopathy Clinical Research Network. Dr. Tran has contributed to numerous peer-reviewed publications and textbook chapters, ensuring his practice remains at the forefront of modern ophthalmic medicine. He also dedicates his time to training the next generation of Doctors and Eye Specialists through his appointment at a major public hospital.
