Dr Kelly Bofkin

Dr Kelly Bofkin is a highly dedicated General Practitioner who brings a wealth of diverse medical and surgical experience to her clinical practice. Originally from London, she completed her medical training in the United Kingdom before relocating to Australia. Prior to transitioning into General Practice, she spent several years working within hospital-based Critical Care specialities, including intensive care and emergency medicine. This extensive background in acute care and surgical training provides her with a robust foundation for managing a wide array of complex medical presentations.

In her daily practice, Dr Bofkin maintains a broad range of clinical interests, with a particular focus on women's and children's health, sexual health, and preventative medicine. Her surgical background is reflected in her proficiency in procedural medicine, including the management of skin lesions, cysts, laceration repairs, and the insertion and removal of contraceptive implants. She is also deeply committed to providing compassionate healthcare to urban and marginalised populations, addressing drug and alcohol concerns, and supporting patients with mental health and musculoskeletal conditions.

In addition to her general practice work, Dr Bofkin is a qualified Designated Aviation Medical Examiner. She completed postgraduate studies in aviation medicine, achieving outstanding academic recognition for her work. In this capacity, she conducts comprehensive aviation medical assessments, fitness-to-fly certifications, and recreational aviation medical evaluations for Pilots and Air Traffic Controllers. She is also passionate about clinical governance, quality improvement, and medical education, actively contributing to the training of future healthcare professionals.

Dr Bofkin graduated with her medical degree from the University of Leeds in 2001. She subsequently completed her training as a Surgeon in the United Kingdom before moving to Australia in 2005. To further her expertise in aviation medicine, she obtained the Australian Certificate of Civil Aviation Medicine from Monash University in 2016, where she was named joint Dux of her cohort and awarded the Westerman Prize in Aviation Medicine.
