Dr Katrina Giskes

Dr Katrina Giskes is a highly qualified and dedicated General Practitioner who brings a unique, multi-disciplinary perspective to patient care. With a strong foundation in both clinical medicine and public health, she is committed to delivering comprehensive, evidence-based healthcare to individuals and families. Dr Giskes adopts a holistic approach to general practice, combining her clinical expertise with a deep understanding of preventative health to support her patients in achieving optimal well-being.

Dr Giskes completed her Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) at the University of Sydney in 2015. Prior to her medical studies, she graduated with a Bachelor of Health Science in Nutrition and Dietetics with First Class Honours and went on to earn a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Public Health. Her postgraduate qualifications also include a Diploma in Child Health. She is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) and holds an academic appointment as an Associate Professor and Research Fellow, reflecting her ongoing commitment to medical education and primary care research.

In addition to her clinical work as a General Practitioner, Dr Giskes is actively involved in pioneering research aimed at improving healthcare delivery. Her clinical and research interests focus on the integration of novel digital technologies into general practice, particularly patient self-screening tools for chronic conditions. Having originally trained as a Dietitian and Nutritionist, she maintains a keen interest in nutrition, diet, and general medicine. She is also highly passionate about children's and adolescents' health, utilising her specialised training to provide compassionate and thorough care for younger patients.
