Dr Kathy Pope

Dr Kathy Pope is a highly dedicated Radiation Oncologist who is committed to providing compassionate, patient-centred care. Specialising in the field of oncology, she focuses on utilising advanced radiation therapies to treat various forms of cancer. Dr Pope is known for her reassuring approach, working closely with patients and multidisciplinary teams to design personalised treatment plans that address the unique needs of each individual.

Her primary clinical interests lie in the management of skin cancers and melanoma, including keratinocyte cancers such as basal cell carcinoma and squamous cell carcinoma. Dr Pope is highly skilled in delivering sophisticated treatment modalities, including three-dimensional conformal radiotherapy, stereotactic radiotherapy, and external beam photon radiotherapy. Additionally, she has a strong interest in palliative radiation therapy, aiming to improve the quality of life and manage symptoms for patients with advanced or metastatic disease.

Dr Pope completed her medical education at Monash University, graduating with her medical degree in 2000. Following her university studies, she undertook extensive specialist training in radiation oncology. She is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists (FRANZCR). Dr Pope remains actively involved in professional committees and clinical research, contributing to the development of optimal care pathways and national guidelines to advance the standard of cancer care.
