Dr Karl Najjar

Dr Karl Najjar is a highly qualified Specialist Obstetrician and Gynaecologist who provides comprehensive care to women at all stages of their lives. With a patient-centred philosophy, he supports natural labour as much as possible while maintaining the advanced clinical skills necessary to manage complex pregnancies and obstetric emergencies. Dr Najjar is dedicated to ensuring that expectant parents feel safe, well-informed, and fully supported throughout their journey to parenthood.

In addition to his obstetric practice, Dr Najjar is a highly skilled Gynaecologist with a particular interest in minimally invasive gynaecological surgery. He utilises advanced surgical techniques, including laparoscopic and robotic-assisted surgery, to treat a wide range of conditions. His clinical expertise encompasses the management of ovarian pathology, such as polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), ovarian cysts, endometriosis, and fibroids, as well as pelvic organ prolapse, menstrual disorders, and abnormal cervical screenings.

Dr Najjar obtained his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from the University of Baghdad in 2000. Following his initial medical training, he gained extensive experience in general medicine and surgery at various hospitals before pursuing Specialist training. He was awarded an Advanced Diploma from the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (DRANZCOG Advanced) and subsequently completed his formal Specialist training at major tertiary and metropolitan hospitals. In 2015, he achieved his Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (FRANZCOG). To further refine his surgical skills, he completed a Fellowship in advanced gynaecological open, laparoscopic, and robotic surgery as a Fellow at a specialised gynaecological oncology unit, and has undertaken advanced training with robotic surgical systems across Australia and Asia.
