Dr Kara James is a dedicated, experienced, and compassionate General Practitioner who is committed to providing comprehensive healthcare to individuals and families. With a patient-centred approach, she focuses on delivering high-quality, personalised medical care that addresses the unique needs of each patient. Dr James enjoys the diverse nature of family medicine, ensuring that every individual receives reassuring and professional support throughout their health journey.

Dr James completed her medical training in Northern and Central Queensland, obtaining her Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS). To broaden her clinical expertise, she spent several years working in regional hospitals, gaining extensive experience in general medicine and paediatrics. Committed to maintaining the highest standards of care, she is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP). Additionally, she has pursued further postgraduate education, earning a Diploma of Child Health, a Certificate of Skin Cancer Medicine, and a Certificate of Sexual & Reproductive Health.

Throughout her career, Dr James has developed a particular interest in women's and children's health. Her advanced training allows her to offer specialised services, including contraceptive procedures such as Mirena and Implanon insertions and removals. She is also highly skilled in preventative medicine, skin cancer checks, and performing minor surgical procedures like skin excisions. Her broad clinical background, which includes providing medical care in remote and regional settings, equips her to manage a wide range of acute and chronic health conditions with confidence and expertise.
